Spring 2008 Newsletter

Dear Friends, Old and New,

While strolling through the spring time gardens surrounding the Tappan pond, I thought of some of the many reasons we enjoy living in our area. Perhaps you might be thinking of moving to such a community that is close to the excitement of New York City while maintaining its special character of country living combined with cultural, recreational and scientific events and enhancements.

The following events may interest you and your family. We invite you to ask questions about these events and then visit and enjoy them with us.

We look forward to the annual Columbia University Public Lecture series at the Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory which is open to area residents from kindergarten to retirement age. Dr. Griffith will be speaking on May 18 on the topic, CLIMATE IS CHANGING OUR FORESTS AND PLANTS.

The Rockland Center for the Arts has scheduled an American Rep Ballet Theater Party on May 9, 2008 at Symphony Space to present-STARRY NIGHTS, the 80th work of our neighbor, ballerina/choreographer, Lisa Larkin. It is based upon three paintings by Vincent Van Gogh.

Looking towards the future, we are working with fine builders who are building GREEN in Grandview, Orangeburg and Warwick, for those families thinking to improve the lives of our families and the world.

Investigating the treasures of our past, we are presenting Freedom House, a circa 1749 historic treasure that is an integrated part of our area's history. It has recently been restored by award winning preservationist. It is said to have served as a hideout by Aaron Burr after he killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel and recently was home to artist Carlotta Petrina, and to John Crawford, one of Jim Henson’s former puppet makers.

We invite you to explore our web site, to find all of the real estate offerings in the Lower Hudson Valley, as well as some of our unique listings on the sites of the New York Times, at www.nytimes.com, and CHRISTIE'S GREAT ESTATES, at www.christiesgreatestates.com .

When you have done so, please feel free to contact us by phone, fax or e-mail and a member of our team will create a personalized tour of the areas and properties that best suit your needs and dreams.

Sincerely,

Molly Mason Samett, President
